PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Al-Mg alloy for die casting causing little solidification cracking and giving high quality of conformance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the Al-Mg alloy for providing a die-cast product having little solidification cracking and high quality of conformance. SOLUTION: The Al-Mg alloy comprises 0.3 mass% or less Si, 2 to 5% Mg, 0.3 to 2% Mn and the balance Al with unavoidable impurities, while a content of either element of Zn, Na, Sr or Ca is controlled to respectively less than 1.0%, less than 100 ppm, less than 100 ppm or less than 50 ppm. The method for manufacturing the die-cast product made of the Al-Mg alloy is characterized by controlling of the time in cooling the Al-Mg alloy from 550°C to a predetermined temperature into a predetermined time or shorter.
