PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of scissors by providing scissors which prevents a person who uses or touches the scissors from being erroneously injured to his/her body. SOLUTION: A blade body 1a equipped with a handle 6a on one end and a blade body 1b equipped with a handle 6b on one end are linked by a link turning shaft 5 so as to be freely opened/closed. The blade body 1a is equipped with a blade portion 2a for cutting an object to be cut, and a protecting plate 4 which faces the blade portion 2a and is equipped with a limiting face 3 to form a predetermined gap with the blade portion 2a is fixed on the blade body 1a. In the process of closing the blade portion 2a and a blade portion 2b from maximum opening positions, the blade portion 2b is overlapped with the protecting plate 4 viewing in a direction vertical to an opening/closing surface, such that any object may not enter the interval of the blade portion 2a and the blade portion 2b except for the gap formed from the blade portion 2a and the limiting face 3. The gap is made minimum for the object to be cut which is predicted in use, such that possibility for a part of user's body to move in between the two blade portions is reduced, thereby improving safety.
