<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variation estimation method of a white balance point which simplifies variation estimation using the physical characteristic of YIQ color coordinate, and is not influenced by color temperature variance. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes a step of determining a white spot plane having a first angle with one of the YQ plane surface and the YI plane surface of YIQ color coordinate in the white spot planar normal line direction based on a picture sensor and a second angle between an original Y-axis and the normal line direction, and a step wherein the white spot plane surface becomes perpendicular to a Y-axis after rotation by corresponding to the normal line direction to the Y-axis direction of YIQ color coordinate and includes a white spot Y coordinate value, rotating the coordinate based on the first and second angles. This method also comprises a step of acquiring YIQ image data describing the YIQ color coordinate, a step of acquiring one image Y coordinate value as well as rotating the YIQ image data to the YIQ color coordinate after rotation by performing a similar coordinate rotating operation based on the first and second angles, and a step of estimating white spot deviation by calculating a difference between the image Y coordinate value and the white spot coordinate value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
