PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a development blade which has no flash, sink, weld on the contact face of the blade with a development roll, and to provide a mold for the development blade which is used for injection molding of the development blade. SOLUTION: A blade main body 2 of the development blade 1 which is in contact with the development roll is provided with a rib 3 projecting in the direction of the width of the development blade 1 from the edge opposite to the contact face of the blade main body 2. In addition, gates 16 of the mold in which a metal plate 4 is disposed as an insert member is provided in portions of a cavity, which correspond to the rib 3 and thus the development blade 1 is insert molded.
