PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type steam trap capable of quickly exhausting large amount of low temperature air. SOLUTION: An inlet 5, a valve chamber 6, and an outlet 7 are formed by a casing formed by an inlet side member 1 and an outlet side member 2. An orifice 16 communicating the valve chamber 6 with the outlet 7 and a large valve hole 8 having large passing area are formed at a lower end of the valve chamber. A bimetal 9 having substantially U-shaped cross section as a temperature corresponding member is arranged in the valve chamber 6. A valve member 12 is fixed to the bimetal 9. The bimetal 9 is deformed to narrow the U shape when temperature is high to close the large valve hole 8 by the valve member 12 and is deformed to expand the U shape when temperature is low to open the large valve hole 8 by the valve member 12. A valve hole 13 having smaller passing area than that of the large valve hole 8 and communicating the valve chamber 6 with the large valve hole 8 is formed in the valve member 12. A hollow spherical float 14 opening and closing the valve hole 13 is arranged in the valve chamber 6 in a free condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
