摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film magnetic head capable of preventing the unintended overwriting of information by properly controlling the flow of a magnetic flux from a yoke layer to a magnetic layer during recording. SOLUTION: The thin-film magnetic head of a perpendicular recording system is constituted in such a manner that a part of yoke layer 11 and a part of magnetic pole layer 12 are connected at a connection surface AM. When a large amount of magnetic fluxes housed in the yoke layer 11 flows through the connection surface AM into the magnetic pole layer 12, since the large amount of magnetic fluxes is drawn on the connection surface AM, a proper amount of a magnetic flux is supplied without supplying excessive magnetic fluxes to the tip 12A of the magnetic pole layer 12. Thus, since the flow of the magnetic flux from the yoke layer 11 to the magnetic pole layer 12 is properly controlled by using the drawing operation of the magnetic fluxes on the connection surface AM, the unintended overwriting of information is prevented during recording.
