PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispenser for a liquid crystal display panel capable of automatically controlling a gap between a nozzle included in a dispenser and a substrate and a method for controlling a gap between the nozzle and the substrate utilizing the same. SOLUTION: The dispenser of the liquid crystal display panel is configured by including a syringe 503 which is furnished with the nozzle 502 at one end and is isolated from the substrate, a vertical driving motor 505 which drives the syringe 503 to a vertical direction, a contact type switch 509 which detects contactability or not of the nozzle 502 and the substrate 501 by driving the motor 505, and a first sensor 507 which detects the initial value to contact the nozzle 502 and the substrate 501 by the result of detection of the contact type switch 509.
