PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide satisfactory wear resistance, life and image characteristic in a high-speed image forming method. SOLUTION: In the image forming method by an electrophotographic process in which a photoreceptor is used at a revolving speed of≥60 rpm, a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor containing a binder resin having a repeating structure represented by formula (1) and an organic photoconductor having a residual deformation volume R of≤50% in an indentation test represented by expression (2) is used as the above photoreceptor. In the expression (2), D<SB>max</SB>represents a deformation volume at the time of applying a load of 0.02 g to a surface of the organic photoconductor with a triangular pyramidal indentor having a dihedral angle of 80°and a curvature radius of the tip of 0.1μm, and D<SB>0</SB>represents a deformation volume which remains when the load is removed.
