PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material in which unevenness in sensitivity and color tone dependent of development time is small and color tone preservability is also good, with respect to a photosensitive material using a silver iodide-rich silver halide. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material comprises at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on a support, wherein the total silver iodide content of the photosensitive silver halide is 40-100 mol% and the coating weight of the photosensitive silver halide is 0.0005-0.4 g/m<SP>2</SP>(expressed in terms of silver).
