ENZYMATIC REACTION SYSTEM COMPRISING A PQQ-DEPENDENT ALCOHOL DEHYDROGENASE AND A QUINOID REDOX COFACTOR COMPOUND

The present invention relates to a reaction system with which oxidation reactions starting from alcohols can advantageously be carried out. Quinoprotein-dependent alcohol dehydrogenases are employed in the reaction system, and the possibility of being able to employ inexpensive quinoid systems instead of the expensive quinoproteins is disclosed. A process for the preparation of enantiomerically enriched compounds using the reaction system according to the invention is also claimed. The strain Pseudomonas PE1 (DSM 15146) and the alcohol dehydrogenase contained herein are moreover also included.
