FIELD: machine engineering, possibly lines for vertical assembling of articles such as hollow cylinders at single mounting of it. SUBSTANCE: line includes machine tools arranged according to manufacturing process and forming zones for performing separate operations; additional attachments, for example for clamping articles; system for transporting articles having step motion mechanism provided with devices for placing articles and framework. Transporting system has guides. Device for placing articles has unit for mounting article, movable spring-loaded mechanism for centering and fixing articles; members for moving said along guides of transporting system. Unit for mounting articles may be moved along axis of transporting system. Movable spring-loaded mechanism may embrace articles and it engages with attachments for clamping articles. Machine for determining quantity of gaskets includes meter for measuring linear movements. Said meter has rod, measuring probe engaging with article surface and movable bases one of which is provided with stop and another is provided with regulated mounting attachment having locking members for fixing position of rod of linear movement meter and of measuring probe.
