<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe needle covering assembly having high safety. <P>SOLUTION: The assembly as a medical implement includes: a hub 60 and a piercing member 40 projected from the hub toward its tip. A protective cap is removably engaged with the base end part of the hub. A vein covering member is screw-engaged with the tip part of the hub to cover and protect the piercing member. A hinged covering member 140 is fitted to the hub to be connected by the hinge, whereby the covering member 140 can be rotated from a first position substantially adjacent to the vein covering member to a second position rotated in the direction of separating from the vein covering member, and finally rotated to a third position enclosing the piercing member. The hinged covering member is disengaged from the vein covering member to be used, and in order to expose the piercing member, the covering member is guided to be rotated from the first position to the second position. After use, in order to cover and protect the piercing member, the hinged covering member is rotated from the second position to the third position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
