<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a defective image due to deflection of a transfer material between a transfer means and a fixing means. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus possesses an intermediate transfer belt 8 carrying a toner image, a transfer roller 12 to transfer the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 8 to the transfer material, and the fixing means 14 to fix the toner image to the transfer material. The feeding speed of the transfer material at the fixing means 14 is set to be lower than that at the transfer roller 12. A first transfer material feeding guide 31 is arranged to be inclined in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction, and a second transfer material feeding guide 32 is arranged to be inclined in the horizontal direction or the vertical direction. A difference in levels E constituting a space allowing a sheet to bend is provided between the end part of the first transfer material feeding guide 31 on a downstream side and the end part of the second transfer material feeding guide 32 on an upstream side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
