<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by making it unnecessary to perform any button operation in storing data, and to provide generality at low costs without preparing for all device drivers necessary for a connected storage device. <P>SOLUTION: A storage device 1 with a read/write function is provided with a hardware environment setting means 12 for detecting the connection of a compact storage device 2 connected to the outside, and for setting the hardware environment and a data transfer control means 13 for reading data recorded in the storage device based on the set environment, and for generating and writing a folder by applying an identification code to all the data.
