<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging device for a two-stage supercharged engine which builds up supercharging pressure by securing an effect of improving high-pressure stage turbine efficiency by exhaust pulsation while suppressing the back pressure rise of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: This supercharging device for the engine is provided with: a high-pressure stage supercharger provided with a high-pressure stage turbine disposed in an exhaust passage of the engine, and a high-pressure stage compressor disposed in an intake passage of the engine and driven by the high-pressure stage turbine; and a low-pressure stage supercharger provided with a low-pressure stage turbine disposed downstream of the high-pressure stage turbine in the exhaust passage; and a low-pressure stage compressor disposed upstream of the high pressure-stage compressor in the intake passage and driven by the low-pressure stage turbine. The capacity of the low-pressure stage compressor is set larger than that of the high-pressure stage compressor, and the capacity of the low-pressure stage turbine is set equal to or less than that of the high-pressure stage turbine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
