PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball mounting device in which a plurality of kinds of balls can be mounted in a lump on a work, and to provide a ball mounting method. SOLUTION: There are provided ball containers 5a, 5b for housing a plurality of balls 6a, 6b; a ball arrangement member 3 having a plurality of chucking holes 15 for vacuum-chucking balls in the ball containers 5a, 5b, and a mask member 4 for covering the chucking holes 15 so as to prevent the ball 6a from chucking at a specific position in the ball arrangement member 3. The mask member 4 is mounted at an opening end of the ball container 5a, and, in a region corresponding to the chucking holes 15 for preventing the ball 6a from chucking in the ball arrangement member 3, the mask member 4 has a vent for venting between a side of the ball container 5a and a side of the chucking holes 15.
