PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device that can stably and surely heat a metallic bulk material in a short period of time in order to be press-formed by heating/softening it. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a process for deciding energy that heats a metallic bulk material in advance to a target heated state; and a process for providing electric energy that generates the same Joule's heat as the predetermined energy in the metallic bulk material by adjusting a voltage and a current and energizing for a prescribed time, with the metallic bulk material clamped by a plurality of electrodes.
