CALCIUM OXIDE PARTICULATE MATTER, ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND ACIDIC-GAS ABSORBENT COMPRISING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic-gas absorbent comprising a calcium oxide particulate matter which efficiently removes acidic gas and its manufacturing process.

SOLUTION: A calcium oxide particulate matter is mixed with a liquid containing an aluminum compound and simultaneously or subsequently hydrated to form calcium hydroxide; the resultant product is heat treated to form calcium oxide. Thus, the objective calcium oxide particulate matter, containing 0.1-5 mass% aluminum oxide and having a specific surface area≥20 m2/g, is obtained.
