<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage a plurality of relevant documents, and to easily link the documents. <P>SOLUTION: In adding a relevant document, information associated with the relevant document is extracted from a character string included in a document being addition destination, and the relevant document is retrieved by using the extracted information. As the result of retrieval, the found document is added as the relevant document in the document being the additional destination. At that time, a hyper-link is prepared from the added document and the character string or position information when specifying the relevant document, and a relation between the document being the additional destination and the added other document is stored.
