<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizer with an electrodeless discharge bulb disposed outside an object irradiated to be, to be used inside a microwave generator, capable of more effectively irradiating ultraviolet rays released from the electrodeless discharge bulb to the object to be irradiated. <P>SOLUTION: This sterilizer sterilizes the object to be irradiated 10 by irradiating the ultraviolet rays Y1 and Y2, and is used inside the microwave generator. The sterilizer comprises the electrodeless discharge bulb 1 in which a material for releasing the ultraviolet rays upon irradiation with microwaves is stored, a sterilizer body 3 having support parts 3c and 3d for supporting the electrodeless discharge bulb at a prescribed position outside the irradiated object and a holder part 4 facing the supported electrodeless discharge bulb for holding the irradiated object, and a reflection surface 5 mounted on the sterilizer body and formed so that the ultraviolet rays released from the electrodeless discharge bulb are reflected in the direction of the irradiated object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
