PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow passage shutting-off device capable of shutting off a gas flow passage when heated abnormally, preventing appearance of an ordinary pipe or joint from being impaired, and preventing an installation place from being limited. SOLUTION: This flow passage shutting-off device is composed of a platelike valve 2 provided in a cylinder constituting the gas flow passage to shut off the flow passage, a holding device 5 holding the platelike valve 2 at flow passage open attitude, an operation member 21 releasing a holding condition of the platelike valve 2 by the holding device 2 and shutting off the flow passage by turning a valve axis of the platelike valve 2 by about 90 degrees, an energizing means 3 for energizing the operation member 21 in the direction of operation start, and a positioning means 4 for positioning the operation member 21 in an operation prevention condition against energizing force of the energizing means 3. The positioning means 4 is constituted by a raw material deformable or meltable at set temperature, and a through hole 14 for inserting a part of the positioning means 4 is formed on a peripheral wall of the cylinder 1.
