PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain paper functioning to adsorb odorous substances emitting from construction materials or the like and convert the odorous substance thus adsorbed into the nonodorous or sparingly odorous one. SOLUTION: The deodorizer-containing paper is produced by the following process: a pulp is beaten so as to be 100-200mL in freeness, and is mixed with diatomaceous earth and an additive to prepare a pulp slurry about 1-2wt.% in inlet concentration; a paper layer is formed from the pulp slurry; and finally the surface of the paper layer is coated with a deodorizer-containing external additive. The paper thus obtained contains≥30wt.% of the diatomaceous earth capable of adsorbing odorous substances and 0.005-0.02wt.% of the deodorizer in the vicinity of the surface of the paper. When the deodorizer-containing paper is used as wall paper, the paper adsorbs odorous substances emitting from construction materials or the like and enables it to be converted into nonodorous or sparingly odorous substances.
