PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support spring member which is made of austenitic stainless steel having high thermal expansion and high strength characteristics and is used for a color sorting mechanism fitted in a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: The flat-spring-shaped support spring member has a thermal expansion coefficient higher than that of a frame member constituting a frame of the color sorting mechanism and is used for supporting the color sorting mechanism in the cathode-ray tube and preventing the occurrence of out-of color registration by using the thermal expansion characteristics of the member. This support spring member is made of stainless steel having a composition which consists of, by weight, 0.10 to 0.30% C,≤3.0% Si,≤3.0% Mn, 5.0 to 12.0% Ni, 18.0 to 30.0% Cr, 0.05 to 0.30% N and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, wherein the area ratio of carbides and carbonitrides precipitating in a metallic structure is made to <3% and the Ni equivalent represented by 24.2C+13.7N+0.35Si+0.5Mn+Ni+0.65Cr is made to 24.0 to 30.0wt.%.
