PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper printer for carrying a printing paper sheet, particularly, a roll paper printer which prevents the printing paper sheet from being mixed into a recovery part and can perform the print output of full-screen printing by utilizing a narrower space. SOLUTION: The recording paper sheet 47, to which printing is applied by a thermal head 39, is fed to a recording paper cutting part 64 by a carrying roller pair 58. In the cutting of a margin part, a separation guide 64e is moved to a solid line position 64e', and the margin part 47a, which is cut off with a cutter 64b, is recovered into a dust box 67. When a printed part is cut off from the recording paper sheet 47, the separation guide 64e is moved to a dotted line position 64e", and the print output, wherein an image is formed, is guided to an output port via a paper duct.
