It is intended to provide the utilization of an mKank gene in treating and diagnosing diseases and discovering drugs. The following protein (a) or (b). (a) A protein comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:3. (b) A protein containing an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:3 by deletion, substitution or addition of one or more amino acids and having a function equivalent to the function of mKank protein.
