<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for enabling a user of a data processor to easily select proper contents among a plurality of prepared contents. <P>SOLUTION: When receiving a number for unique identification which is recorded on a CD set in a terminal device 102 from the terminal device, a CDDB server 111 installed at a site 101 transmits data representing music collected on the CD. Once the music data are received from the terminal device 102, a rhythm pattern retrieval server 113 specifies rhythm pattern data (accompaniment) matching the music that the data represent through retrieval and transmit its pattern name, pattern number, etc. The terminal device 102 displays the received pattern name to present the pattern data matching music indicated with the music data that the user selected.
