<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow carrier composed of basic magnesium carbonate having a tubular structure, a functional particle in which an effective component is incorporated inside the tubular structure of the hollow carrier and which has excellent controlled release property, masking effect and leakage preventing property and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The hollow carrier composed of a tubular aggregated particle of basic magnesium carbonate by preparing the basic magnesium carbonate under a specific condition and the functional particle is manufactured by bringing the hollow carrier into contact with one or more kinds of the effective components to include the components. The manufactured functional particle exhibits excellent characteristics such as stable controlled release effect, deterioration preventing effect, masking effect or protective effect because of the peculiar structure that the compounds are included inside the tubular structure. Particularly in the controlled release effect, an excellent characteristic that the release rate is controlled by controlling the length, the inside diameter or the thickness of the tube is attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
