<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the effect of temperature characteristics of electronic components being used in a quantity of light control circuit can be reduced, and to provide a temperature regulating method of a quantity of light control board. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a light source temperature regulating section 1 for controlling the light source temperature, and a quantity of light control board 2 for controlling the quantity of light of the light source and has such a structure as a latent image is formed on a photosensitive body by scanning it with light from the light source, and when the light source temperature is higher than the environmental temperature around the light source, temperature of the quantity of light control board 2 is not monitored but satisfies a formula 1; (temperature of the control board)>(environmental temperature)+((light source temperature)-(environmental temperature))/2, within one hour after starting temperature regulation of the light source temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
