<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing displacement between images formed as copies on the front and back surfaces of a specific sheet after the position of the sheet as a copying medium is adjusted in a double-sided copying machine. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, the position of the sheet is adjusted in the double-sided copying machine, displacement between the two images formed as copies on the front and back of the same sheet is reduced, and an error in cutting paper is compensated for. During first passage, a distortion error angle between a target angle, for example 90°, and the trailing edge of the sheet is measured and stored. When the same sheet is fed in second passage, an error angle is searched and the target angle is adjusted to compensate for the first passage distortion. Thus the displacement between the images on the front and on the back is improved compared with the displacement which is obtained with a system for matching the images on the sheet without knowing the position of the image on the opposite side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
