PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composition pellets improved in durability, and also improved in the stability of continuous production. SOLUTION: This method for producing long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composition pellets containing the thermoplastic resin and fiber comprises a process of melting and kneading the thermoplastic resin by a plasticizing device and a process of continuously impregnating the molten and kneaded thermoplastic resin into the fiber bundle. In the melting and kneading process of the thermoplastic resin by the plasticizing device, the thermoplastic resin and inert gas are supplied from a material-supplying port of the plasticizing device under a condition of≥1 ratio of the supplying amount of the inert gas (unit: litter) and the supplying amount of the thermoplastic resin (unit: kg), (the amount of supply of the inert gas/the amount of supply of the thermoplastic resin).
