PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction of an endurance life of a roller bearing 1a by controlling intrusions of water, and dust and dirt into a space 16 where roller bodies 6 and 6 are therein arranged. SOLUTION: Grease 17 is coated on an entire periphery of a sliding contact portion between an edge of an end 12 of a seal lip 11 and seal grooves 13 and 13, and an entire periphery of a side wall face 15 being an inside part of the sliding contact portion. The coated amount of grease 17 is 0.2 to 1 weight % against the amount of grease filled in the aforementioned space 16. The grease 17 coated on the side wall face 15 prevents further intrusion of foreign substances even though foreign substances such as water, and dust and dirt are going to invade through the sliding contact portion. Consequently, reduction of the endurance life of the rolling bearing 1a is prevented so that the grease filled into the space 16 prevents water and dust & dirt from mixing into the grease.
