PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability and operation characteristics of a dynamic pressure gas bearing device and a disk regenerative recorder. SOLUTION: In two pairs of radial dynamic pressure generating grooves, the film thickness C of a surface treated film 21 on an outer peripheral surface of a shaft 2 in an area where a second radial dynamic pressure generating groove 2d closer to a magnet 6 and a coil 5 is disposed, is made bigger than the film thickness B of a surface treated film 22 on a surface of the shaft 2 in an area where the other first radial dynamic pressure generating groove 2c is disposed. By so doing, damage due to a partial contact with the second radial dynamic pressure generating groove 2d when rotation of a sleeve 1 starts and stops can be prevented. Rigidity in a bearing part of the second radial dynamic pressure generating groove 2d can be enhanced. Therefore, reliability and operation characteristics of the dynamic pressure gas bearing device and the disk reproducing device can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
