PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein cross talk is generated to a discharge cell positioned obliquely next in a data electrode extension direction, in a plasma display panel with auxiliary barrier ribs formed perpendicularly to main barrier ribs. SOLUTION: In this plasma display panel, the barrier ribs are composed of the two main barrier ribs 11 formed in parallel with data electrodes 10 and adjoining in the extension direction of a display electrode 5 of a front plate 1, and the auxiliary barrier ribs 12 with both ends branched in two directions connected to the barrier ribs 11; and an auxiliary barrier rib forming angle formed by each barrier rib 11 and the corresponding barrier rib 12 is set at right angle or at an obtuse angle. By virtue of this structure, the intersection part of the barrier rib 11 with the barrier rib 12 are branched into three directions, so that contractive force of the intersection parts of the barrier ribs is reduced. As a result, the depression amount of each intersection part of the barrier ribs is reduced, and leakage of plasma discharge can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
