PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device which is free of density unevenness due to irregularity of electrostatic charging and an image defect such as a ghost image, whose electrophotographic receptor has long print-resisting life, and which can stably supply a copy image of high quality. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device which applies a DC voltage to an electrostatic charging member and presses the electrostatic charging member to abut against the electrophotographic photoreceptor for primary electrostatic charging is characterized in that relational expression of 0.1≤Rz1/Rz2≤1.5 is satisfied, where Rz1 is 10-point mean surface roughness of the electrophotographic receptor in a starting use stage and Rz2 is 10-point mean surface roughness of the electrostatic charging member.
