PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera constituted so that a lens for enlarging the screen of a display panel can be stored when not needed, then, the portability may not be damaged. SOLUTION: As for the digital camera provided with a solid-state image pickup element 3 for reading a formed object image and obtaining an image signal, and for recording the image signal read by the solid-state image pickup element 3 at a timing corresponding to a photographing operation, the digital camera is provided with the camera body 1, a photographing lens 2 arranged on the front side of the camera body 1 so as to form the object image on the solid-state image pickup element 3, the display panel 4 arranged on the rear side of the camera body 1 so as to display the image based on the image formed by the solid-state image pickup element 3, and a lens holding mechanism 6 to which the lens 5 having a positive power for enlarging the screen of the display panel 4 is attached so that the lens 5 can be shifted to a storage position adjacent to the display panel 4 or a viewing position separated from the display panel 4.
