PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new active ingredient developing excellent control effect on harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, yeasts or algae, and an industrial germicidal composition containing the active ingredient. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a new quinoxaline-based compound such as 2,3-di- 5-8C alkoxy-6-nitroquinoxaline, 2- 1-8C alkoxy-6-nitroquinoxaline, 2,3-di(N- 3-5C alkylamino)-6-nitroquinoxaline, 2,3-di- 3-4C alkoxy-6-aminoquinoxaline, 2,3-diaryloxy-6-substituted quinoxaline or 2.3-di-substituted-6-(substituted) benzenesulfonylaminoquinoxaline or its salt and the industrial germicidal composition containing the new quinoxaline-based compound or its salt.
