PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleanness maintaining/promoting method of a substance or a product for activating the deodorizing, antibacterial, antifouling and pollutant removing actions or the like of a photocatalyst by irradiation with light energy and maintaining and accelerating the cleanness of the substance or the product treated by adding the photocatalyst in order to improve the environmental sanitation of life, and a cleanness maintaining/promoting system of a photocatalyst activation type therefor. SOLUTION: In the cleanness maintaining/promoting method of a photocatalytically treated substance or product, by gathering sunlight, transmitting the sunlight through an optical fiber, enabling the emission of sunlight energy from the tip and irradiating the substance or the product worked by adding the photocatalyst with the sunlight energy as needed, the photocatalyst actions such as the deodorizing, antibacterial, antifouling and pollutant removing actions of the photocatalyst are activated and the cleanness of the substance or the product worked by adding the photocatalyst is maintained and promoted.
