PURPOSE: A reciprocating compressor is provided to reduce the length of the compressor by reducing a space required for mounting a resonance spring. CONSTITUTION: A reciprocating compressor includes a resonance spring unit coupled between a frame unit and a movable element of a reciprocating motor to induce resonance motion of a piston of a compression unit in association with the movable element. The resonance spring unit has four compression springs(152) and four tension springs(153) inserted into the compression springs, wherein both ends of the springs are fixed to the front surface of a spring support(151) and a rear surface of a rear frame(122). Since the resonance spring unit is not arranged to a rear part of the spring support and the frame unit is divided into a front frame part and the rear frame part, a conventional rear frame is not necessary any more.
