<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an optical writing unit section and an electric equipment unit section can be cooled efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a photosensitive drum 26 supported rotatably, an optical writing unit 32 surrounded by an optical housing 100 and forming an image on the photosensitive drum 26 with a light beam, and a fan 45 for cooling the optical writing unit 32 wherein an air flow channel from the cooling fan 45 is formed by ribs 111 and 112 provided to guide air from the cooling fan 45 to the optical writing unit 32 and the first through third sidewalls 100a, 100b and 100c of the optical housing 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
