EARTHQUAKE SECURITY SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop the supply of gas into a house when an earthquake occurs as well as to cope with gas leakage from pipes including pipe shafts lined into the house. SOLUTION: This earthquake security system comprises a gas supply shut-off means 4 which has a communication type gas security meter 1 connected to a gas supply pipe and having a radio communication slave unit 2, an earthquake sensor 3 connected to the upstream side of the gas security meter 1 connected to the gas supply pipe for catching the earthquake and a radio communication master unit 5 for communicating with the radio communication slave unit 2. When the earthquake occurs, the gas supply shut-off means 4 determines and processes signals from the earthquake sensor 3 and stops the supply of gas. Thus, the supply of gas can be stopped automatically after the earthquake occurs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
