PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate a microarray device, for permitting an experiment on many samples with superior working efficiency, in a laboratory environment. SOLUTION: A sample processing system for processing the sample contained in a liquid is disclosed. In particular, the sample processing system, consisting of a pipette 11 and a cartridge 12, is disclosed. The cartridge includes a chamber 13 having an inlet 14 and an outlet 15. The chamber includes the microarray device 16 having an active surface 17. The active surface can be brought into contact with the liquid contained in the chamber. The cartridge further includes an optical interface 18 for providing optical access to the active surface of the microarray device, an inlet port 21, and an outlet port 22. The inlet port is constituted and dimensioned so as to be become airtight into contact with a pipette tip, when the pipette tip 23 is inserted into the inlet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
