PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptation control system and method for a model base to maximize abilities after having deterioration, defective, failure, or damage in an engine part or a system. SOLUTION: First, a model 52 of a system or part related to an engine of an aircraft, a power plant, etc., is generated, and the model 52 is adapted to the engine 51. Next, in a case where deterioration, defective, failure, or the like is detected in the engine part or the like, this information is inputted to a controller 54 for the model base as variation to the model, restricting conditions, target functions, or other control parameters. Next, using all the information concerning engine conditions and states, and commands to control targets, related to the target functions and restricting conditions, the optimum control action is determined. The model 52 and the controller 54 are renewed at real time, and using the optimum corrective control action commands, irregularity between engines, deterioration, damage, defective, failure or the like are revealed.
