PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for managing attribute data associated with one or more storage devices configurable as a SAN. SOLUTION: The system for managing attribute data associated with one or more network resources includes compressing attribute data associated with one or more network resources by using reference characters representing attribute data character strings. The compressing may include configuring attribute data into a tree structure accessible in a compressed form and/or representing attribute data character strings by using parallel reference characters comprising integer values.
