PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photograph making apparatus equipped with a background generating device capable of generating various backgrounds, a plane background free from wrinkles and a background giving a surprise to a user. SOLUTION: The background generating device 100 is provided with two plain colored translucent curtains 101, three transparent design curtains 102 with colored different designs painted, and a roll curtain driving part 110 for winding the curtains upward or unwinding the curtains downward in accordance with user's instructions, a background flash box 120 for emitting achromatic (white) flash light toward the curtains, and a punching net 130 as a dimming means arranged behind the user U. The color curtains 101 and the transparent design curtains 102 are arranged so that they can be pulled down nearly parallel to a plane vertical to a photographing direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
