PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the power consumption of a communication terminal furthermore by rationalizing the power control of a communication function part (stopping power supply in an unused state).

SOLUTION: A communication terminal 1 includes a control means (central control part 11) which sets a communication device to a pausing state when a state that transmission data doesn't exist continues for a certain time, and sets the communication device to an active state when detecting that transmission data exists, in the pausing state. Since the power consumption of the communication function part (a wireless communication unit 9) of the communication terminal 1 is suppressed in a period when communication is not performed (the state that transmission data doesn't exist continues for the certain time). the power consumption of the communication terminal 1 itself is suppressed furthermore to avoid consumption of a battery 14.
