摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat light source capable of improving a heat dissipation of heat radiated from a tubular light source and a noise-restraining property, and capable of narrowing the frame of a display surface. <P>SOLUTION: The flat light source device 11 comprises a liquid crystal panel supporting frame 17 supporting a liquid crystal panel, and a holding frame 12 holding an optical sheet 16 arranged between a metallic heat sink 13 and a light guide plate 14, and the liquid crystal panel cooperating with the liquid crystal panel supporting frame 17. The light guide plate 14 is arranged so as to face with a surface at the opposite side of the display surface of the liquid crystal panel, and light from the tubular lamp 15 is incident from an end face and is irradiated toward the liquid crystal panel side. The heat sink 13 supports the tubular lamp 15 and the light guide plate 14, and a cover part 13a covering the tubular lamp 15 is integrally formed into such a shape that guides the light emitted from the tubular lamp 15 toward the light guide plate 14. The sides of the cover part 13a facing both end surfaces of the tubular lamp 15 are opened and the openings at both end surfaces of the tubular lamp 15 at the cover parts 13a are covered by the holding frame 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
