<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbon black pigment suitable for forming a black matrix which is a thin film and has a high blackness degree and light blocking property, extremely low electroconductivity, and a superior photosensitive characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon black pigment for black matrix is obtained by ester bonding of an organic compound having an alcohol-based hydroxyl group and a vinyl group or an alcohol-based hydroxyl group and an isopropenyl group to a calboxyl group on the surface of a carbon black particle produced by subjecting carbon black with ≥50 m<SP>2</SP>/g nitrogen-absorbing specific surface area and ≤140 cm<SP>3</SP>/100 g DBP absorption to wet oxidation processing. By using a resin composition for black matrix formation which is prepared by using the carbon black pigment, a black matrix is formed which has low viscosity, a small particle size of a carbon black particle aggregate in the resin composition, high photosensitivity, high volume resistivity, and superior light-blocking property, film thinning property, and surface smoothness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
