<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slotless permanent magnet type rotary electric machine which can drastically reduce the loss in a high-speed rotation region without the drastic increase of the copper loss. <P>SOLUTION: The slotless permanent magnet type rotary electric machine has a nearly cylindrical rotor (53) having a permanent magnet (52), a stator core (54) surrounding the rotor, and a winding (55) provided between the rotor and the stator core by providing a gap inbetween the rotor. The slotless permanent magnet type rotary electric machine having the following characteristics is provided. The winding is circumferentially extended wholly in such a manner that adjacent windings are deviated so as to be partially overlapped in the circumferential direction of the rotor. And, the wiring is composed of conductors (60, 60a, and 60b) with a long cross-section.
