PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner for nonmagnetic single component development having excellent cleanability, electrification property, environmental stability and durability and capable of forming images of good quality free of noises such as fog, streaks and residue on wiping over a prolonged period of time while suppressing chipping of a cleaning blade and wear of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The toner for nonmagnetic single component development is used in an image forming method in which residual toner on an electrostatic latent image carrier is cleaned with a cleaning blade disposed in such a way that the abutting angle and abutting pressure to the electrostatic latent image carrier are set within a specified range each. The toner is obtained by mixing toner particles whose volume average particle diameter, average circularity, standard deviation of the circularity and surface properties fall within a specified range with a metal salt of a fatty acid having a volume average particle diameter of 1.5 to 12μm, wherein the fatty acid salt is added to the toner particles by 0.001 to 0.1 wt.% in outer percentage.
