PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a source driver and accordingly of the whole liquid crystal display device by reducing the power loss of an output stage part in the source driver of the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: A comparator circuit 10 compares an input V_IN from a D/A converter with an output V_OUT. A comparator circuit 11 consists of inverters connected in even stages and analog switches. The comparator circuit 11 fetches the input V_IN in a short period of time just before initialization and then opens an analog switch SW 1 and closes a switch SW2 to thereby suppress power consumption. A SW control circuit 12 controls on/off of switches SW 3 to SW 10 according to a determination output of the comparator circuit 11, a write signal WR and an output initialization signal INIT.
